Kathleen M. Flanagan

With an MBA from the University of Chicago and completion of the Advanced Management Program of Harvard Business School, Kathleen enables corporate executives, leadership teams and boards to set sound strategies and gain organizational commitment through effective communication and interaction. Previously, as senior vice president with Nuveen Investments, she was responsible for corporate communication strategy, brand development, integrated marketing communication and board relations during a period of rapid product expansion, acquisitions and corporate evolution.

She served on the board of the Securities Industry Association from 1993 to 1995, becoming a founding member of the industry’s Committee on Public Trust and Confidence in 1994. In 1997, she became co-chair of the industry’s first Diversity Committee at the request of the SIA board. She also served on the board of the Securities Industry Foundation for Economic Education (1994-2000). She received the Distinguished Service Award from the University of Chicago Women’s Business Group in 2007. She is a charter member of Boardroom Bound.
